Taylor Turns Two - Kai-Lan Red & Aqua Party

Time has flown by and our little one is now two! To celebrate, we created a Taylor Turns Two party with a whimsical combination of red & aqua, with touches of her favorite character Ni Hao Kai Lan.

I had to purchase some of these fun touches from Etsy! The sign was customized to match the colors and type seen throughout the party. These straws were a fun accent that added to the whimsical feel of the day.

I created these fun cupcake toppers used to add subtle
touches of Kai Lan throughout the party decor and we had a fabulous cake made by Jennifer Stonebarger.

Jennifer also helped make all the delicious and very cute dessert shots and cookies on our fun dessert table.

We had a bright and colorful drink table, stocked with Jones soda for the adults and lots of juice & water for the kids.

Everyone that knows me, knows how much I love my gourmet food trucks. We had our good friends at TacoDawg cater kid-friendly hot dogs &
tacos. I also created handmade cones and had a dipping sauce options.

I also bought our daughter a beautiful handmade dress from the
Creative Bee shop on Etsy.

  3. I actually decided not to do goodie bags and instead just had people grab candy and treats from the dessert table. The kids took home the lollipops and pinwheels from the centerpieces. I figured I would save some money there.

I LOVE the gourmet food trucks!!! They are actually very affordable in comparison to some catering companies and the quality & variety is amazing!!!

  6. Hi! Beautiful party! LOVE all the details! I was also wondering where you got the dessert cups and mini spoons and what size they were. Also, were your tablecloths a light blue or light aqua color? Thanks!

  7. So sorry for the delayed response to your blog comments. I didn't realize I hadn't set up the email notifications. To answer your question regarding the shot glasses/spoons used for my daughter's birthday party, they were provided by the baker who did the cake and desserts. Her blog can be found here (along with her contact information): http://www.jenniferstonebarger.blogspot.com/.

  8. The fry holders were handmade. I basically went to smart and final and purchased some parchment paper squared (sold in a box), held one corner down and rolled it like an ice cream cone. A little adhesive dot to hold it together. You can also do this with some of the pattern paper as long as they have a wax paper/parchment texture to avoid grease marks from the fries.

  9. I love how you did your daughter's party. I stumbled on your blog when looking for ideas for my daughters 2nd birthday kai lan party. It is a spring birthday and I was having trouble picking two colors to go with the Kai lan theme and these two are just perfect.
I wish we had gourmet food trucks near us (we live on long island in NY) - that is such a unique idea for a kids birthday party.
Your baker - AMAZING, i love what she did. Wish she lived in NY.
Thanks for the inspiration to now be able to plan my dtr's party.
    Your dtr is very lucky!

  12. Absolutely adorable party! I'm especially in love with the fry box, I know how to make the wrappers, but please tell us how you did the box. It's wrapped in Paper Source paper, so I'm even more excited by it :)

  15. Amazing party. I really liked his cake. I am not sure if we can get a similar cake here too. From where did you ordered that? It’s too colourful. I am also doing party planning for my nephew’s fifth birthday as my sister is quite busy and asked my help.
